TransGrid is committed to protecting the health, welfare and safety of employees, contractors and the public through demonstrated leadership in health and safety. Our strategies are aimed at continually improving our performance in this area. Representing our firm position that all accidents are preventable, our focus on risk management is key to achieving our goal of zero injuries.
As an essential service provider operating in a high risk environment, meeting a strong standard of health and safety is core to everything we do. We promote a positive safety culture in which all employees and contractors are encouraged to actively manage their safety and the safety of others.
To underscore and strengthen these commitments, contractors working for TransGrid must register and maintain their compliance in an online Worker Safety, Authorisation and Training (WSAT) system.
The system is managed on our behalf by Pegasus, workforce management software and safety experts.
HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?
Contractors will register both their business and workers in the TransGrid WSAT system.
The process is relatively simple and is all completed in an online portal. We divide it into two stages to make it as seamless as possible: 1. business registration, and 2. worker registration. The entire process is detailed on the How to Register page, and we’ve outlined it below for you:
Registering your business
Beginning in the Company Pre-Qualification portal of the TransGrid WSAT system, you’ll answer questions about the type, scope and frequency of work your business does for TransGrid. Based on your answers, you’ll be assigned a category to determine which documents we’ll need to get you compliant. You’ll upload those documents for Pegasus safety specialists to verify, and then you can get your workers registered.
Registering your workers
You’ll be sent login details to the Roles Portal of the TransGrid WSAT system, where you’ll create profiles for your employees who work on TransGrid sites. You’ll select the role/s they perform for TransGrid, upload their qualifications and competencies (licences, tickets), and book online inductions which they complete before attending site. This information is also verified by Pegasus safety specialists. Compliant and inducted workers are issued with access ID cards linked to their online profile – their passport to access TransGrid sites.
Pegasus connects a competent workforce. They manage the Worker Safety, Authorisation and Training System on behalf of TransGrid.
Forged in deep industrial expertise, our software was first developed in 1998 to keep Australian workers safe on site.
